Dialpad Meetings Control Basics

Dialpad Meeting offers various controls accessible from the bottom bar. Users can access host controls, chat, audio and mic settings, screenshare, reactions, AI controls, layout options, and more. Video feeds display participants' cameras when active and show initials or avatars when disabled. The "Views" option allows users to switch between layouts. Meeting info provides details such as meeting name, duration, URL, and dial-in number. The dropdown arrow offers options to invite others via name, number, or email address. In the meeting chat, users can send messages and images to all participants. The participants section allows users to view and search user profiles and manage participants by removing or muting them. Audio controls enable users to mute or unmute their microphone. Video controls allow users to turn their camera on or off, blur backgrounds, and control incoming videos. The red phone icon allows users to exit the meeting. Screen sharing options include sharing the entire screen, a window, or a single tab. Emoji reactions provide feedback to participants. AI controls enable live meeting transcription. Host controls are available only to organizers and offer options like recording, starting AI, muting participants, locking the meeting, etc. Picture in Picture allows viewing the meeting feed while on other windows. Help and troubleshooting options provide quick access to support resources. Integrations with tools like Miro can be accessed from the More button.

Let's take a look at Dialpad Meeting's basic controls, accessible from the bottom bar.
Video feeds
Video feed show video presentation of the participants in your meeting, making it easier to connect and communicate with each other in a more personal way.
When participants join your meeting with their cameras on, their video feeds will show up on the screen. If their cameras are off, you’ll see their initials or avatar instead.
You can change your video layouts by selecting Views.
Meeting info
Select Details to view the name and duration of the meeting, Meeting URL, and dial-in number. You can also invite other participants by selecting Invite others and enter their name, number, or email address.
Meeting chat
Participants can send messages, share links, and post files directly in the chat, making it easy to reference important information.
To view and send messages or images to all meeting participants, simply go to the Chat section.
Participants
Head to the Participants section to see who's in the meeting, search user profiles, and even remove, mute or unmute Participants (if you're the Organizer or Co-host).
Audio controls
Quickly turn your microphone on or off by selecting the Mute button.
Select the up-arrow to access your audio controls.
Video controls
Select the camcorder icon to quickly turn your camera on or off.
Select the up-arrow to blur or change your background, use a virtual background, turn off all incoming videos or turn off a background completely.
End a meeting
Exit the meeting by selecting the red phone icon.
If you're the organizer, you'll have the choice of ending the meeting for everyone when you leave, or for you to exit and allow the meeting to continue.
Share your screen
Share your screen with all meeting Participants — choose between sharing your entire screen, a window or just a single tab.
To start sharing your screen
- Select Share Screen
- Select the screen you'd like to present
- Chrome tab
- Window
- Entire Screen
- Select Share

Emoji reactions
Give feedback to the other meeting participants via real-time emoji reactions.
Hover over Reactions to access your top 4 most-used emojis, or select the + to access the full emoji library.
Host controls
Host controls are only available to the organizer, that let's them manage the meeting with options such as recording, activating Dialpad Ai, muting or moderating participants, locking the meeting, and more.
To access the host menu, select Host Controls.
Meeting Ai controls
Dialpad Meeting Ai takes notes and captures key moments, so you can stay focused on your meeting.
Go to Host Controls, and select Turn off/on Ai to enable or disable it.
When enabled, watch the live meeting transcript appear in real time!
Picture-in-Picture
Enable Picture-in-Picture to bring the video feed out of the window, so that you can view the meeting feed while on other windows.
To enable Picture-in-Picture, go to More and select Start Picture-in-Picture.

Move to TV
Wirelessly switch your screen share to a TV using the Move to TV feature.
To access Move to TV, go to More and select Move to TV.
