    Assign Operators to Departments

    Who can use this feature
    Company and Office Admins with a Dialpad Ai Voice license on Standard, Pro and Enterprise plans are able to assign operators.

    Assign an operator

    To assign an operator, first head to your Admin Settings at Dialpad.com

    1. Select to Departments
    2. Navigate to a Department
    3. Select Assigned operators & phones
    4. Navigate to Add people from your team
    5. Enter a user's name or email address


    Tip

    Up to 25 operators can be assigned per Department.

    Assign an operator to multiple Departments

    Need to assign an operator to 2 (or 10!) Departments? No problem. 

    Head to your Admin Settings at Dialpad.com 

    1. Navigate to Office Settings
    2. Select Users
    3. Navigate to a user 
    4. Select Options 
    5. Select Groups
    6. Select Make Dept Operator

    7. Select the checkboxes beside each department you'd like to make them an operator
    8. Select Close to save the changes

    Just like that, your user is now an operator for multiple departments.

    You can also use this method to remove an operator from multiple Departments at the same time (just uncheck the boxes).

    Ring connected devices

    Calls are able to ring Dialpad on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, desk phones, room phones, and forwarding numbers — Operators must ensure calls ring to their connected devices. 

    To manage which devices will be rung, head to Your Settings at Dialpad.com

    1. Select Your Devices 
    2. Navigate to Ring This Device 
    3. Select the checkbox beside each device you would like to ring
