Digital Outbound Agents can send outbound 1:1 SMS messages directly from the Dialpad Messaging interface. Use outbound SMS to follow up with customers and continue conversations after a call.
Who can use this
Refer to our Pricing Page to see if you have access to this feature. If you have any questions about your plan, reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Dialpad Customer Care.
Before you begin
- Confirm that external SMS/MMS messaging is enabled for the relevant Dialpad number.
- Confirm that the number meets Dialpad's SMS registration and compliance requirements.
- Make sure the number has sufficient messaging credits, where applicable.
Note
Unregistered numbers are highly likely to have outbound SMS/MMS messages blocked and may incur higher usage fees. For more information, see Text Message Campaign Registry for Dialpad Customers and Enable External SMS/MMS Messaging.
Limitations
- Outbound SMS only supports 1:1 conversations.
- Bulk SMS and group messaging aren't supported.
- SMS/MMS messages sent from numbers without an approved A2P campaign may be blocked.
