Accounts like Exchange, Hotmail or Outlook need to be manually synced by an individual user.
Your contacts associated with these providers gives you the following options:
- Search for personal contacts in Dialpad
- Make edits to your contacts within Dialpad or your contact source and the changes will sync
- Add contacts in Dialpad or your contact source and the changes will sync
- Remove contacts in Dialpad (doesn't sync)
- Remove contacts in contact source (doesn't sync)
Sync Exchange Contacts
Here’s how to manually sync your Exchange contacts:
- Navigate to Dialpad.com > Your Settings > Contact Sources > Add Contact Source
- Enter your email and password then click Sign In
- Select Exchange
- Enter your Exchange email and password
After following these steps, you’ll be brought to Dialpad where you’ll see the sync has connected.
If an error message displays, you may need to enter your Exchange username and server. Here’s how:
- Disconnect your sync
- Click Add Contact Source
- Enter your email and password then click Sign In
- Select Exchange
- Enter your Exchange email and password then click Advanced Settings
- Enter your Exchange username and server*
*Your username may be your Windows username rather than your email address. You can find your server name on the Outlook Web App
Sync Hotmail or Outlook Contacts
Here’s how to manually sync your Hotmail/Outlook contacts:
- Navigate to Dialpad.com > Your Settings > Contact Sources > Add Contact Source
- Enter your email and password then click Sign In
- Select Other
- Enter your email, password, IMAP Host, IMAP Port #, STMP Host, STMP Port #*
After following these steps, you’ll be brought to Dialpad where you’ll see the sync has connected.
*If you need help finding your IMAP or SMTP info, try searching for POP and IMAP settings in your email client’s settings page.
Disconnect the Sync
If you ever need to disconnect your contact sources from Dialpad, just navigate back to Dialpad.com > Your Profile > Contact Sources and select Disconnect.
