Reset Poly admin password
To reset your Polycom UCS VVX phone Admin password:
- Locate the MAC address (serial number) of the phone
- The MAC address can be found on the rear/bottom of the phone, or you can see the MAC address by pressing Menu > Status > Platform > Phon
- Restart the phone
- Unplug it, count to 10, and then plug it back in
- While the phone is powering back up press and hold the 1, 3, 5 keys simultaneously
- You have 5-10 seconds to complete this step
- If you see loading application and no countdown on your screen, select cancel to see the countdown
- Enter the MAC address of the phone
- Not case sensitive
- To switch between alpha and numeric press mode
That's it! You should now be able to log into the phone with the default admin password of 456 or 789
You can now enter this into the local IP to re-activate your device.
Frequently asked questions
Will this work on all Polycom phones?
No. These steps will not work on Poly VVX 250, 350, or 450 Obi Edition phones.
