Dialpad's iOS app is designed to live at the center of your business communications, and we're always rolling out product updates containing new features, improvements and bug fixes.
We're currently on app version 40.0.0 — be sure to update your app to take advantage of these latest features.
Let's take a look at what's new from our most recent release on July 6, 2025.
Improvements
Smarter contact management and search
Contact management and search on the Dialpad iOS app are now smarter and more helpful.
Search results now include executive assistant details, and fuzzy search makes it easier to find contacts, even with minor spelling errors.
Shared lines and device contacts now appear across all tabs and have their sections too.
Contacts with multiple numbers (or assistants/executives linked) now show all numbers clearly.
Tap to call anyone directly from the contact entry, no extra steps needed.
Improved messaging experience
Improvements on sending and receiving messages on your iOS app include efficient quick replies, message editing, enhanced media handling, and clearer reply labels.
You can access saved replies with a new button in the message composer. Long-press a message to edit it, and while editing, the camera and gallery buttons will be hidden for a cleaner view.
Sending photos is clear automatically from the input field, and videos over 32MB can’t be sent (you’ll see an error). You can also attach up to 10 photos per message.
The Mark all as read button now disappears instantly after you use it.
Direct replies are back, with clearer labels like Reply to message, Start thread, and Open thread depending on the message.
The Latest message label now matches what you see on other platforms for a more unified look.
Call experience enhancements
We’ve made updates to make calling on your iOS app more stable, easier to manage, and overall better to use.
The call selection method screen will automatically hide if there's only one call method available, streamlining your outbound calls.
We’ve moved the Block Caller ID option under the Select Caller ID so it’s easier to find and set up.
You can now transfer incoming calls to anyone within your company—like teammates, departments, or contact centers, even if external transfers are turned off.
Improved home screen & channel sync
Home Screen and channel updates now reflect in real time, with smoother syncing and improved reliability across devices.
Channels now automatically appear or disappear from your Dialpad home screen when created, joined, or left on another device.
Changes like muting or unmuting a channel on another device now reflect immediately on your iOS app home screen. Muted channels are also moved toward the bottom for less distraction.
Badges now correctly show unread mentions when notifications are set to mentions only.
Audio processing has been disabled for iOS 16 and 17 to prevent crashes, keeping your app stable and smooth.
