Dialpad allows admins to enable external transfers, which allow team members to transfer calls outside of the company. Additionally, admins can also enable outside transfers, which allow users to place outbound calls and transfer them to someone outside the company. However, this capability is disabled by default as part of a fraud prevention method and customers on the Standard plan are limited to in-company transfers only. To enable outside transfers for customers on the Standard plan, they must reach out to Dialpad's support team.
Admins may choose to allow team members to transfer a call to an external number that does not exist within the Company. There's also the option to transfer to an international number.
Enable External Transfers (Inbound Calls)
External transfers are transfers that occur when you receive an inbound call and transfer the call to someone outside the Company.
From Dialpad.com, navigate to Admin Settings > Office > Office Settings > Making Calls.
Select Allow Team Members to Transfer Calls Outside of the Company.
If you'd like to allow external transfers to international numbers, select the appropriate checkbox as well — Allow Transfers to International Numbers.
Enable Outside Transfers (Outbound Calls)
Outside transfers are transfers that occur when you place an outbound call and transfer the call to someone outside the Company.
Dialpad disables this capability by default as part of a fraud prevention method.
Customers on the Standard plan cannot complete outside transfers; the Standard plan limits you to in-Company transfers only (team member, Main Line, Department, or Call Center). If you'd like to enable outside transfers and you're on the Pro or Enterprise plans, reach out to our Support Team.
