Need to port a number from the United Kingdom? This guide will walk you through the process.

In order to complete your port request, Dialpad requires the following documents.

Latest Invoice from current carrier
Note
In some cases, additional documentation may be requested after the port request is submitted.

How long will it take?
The standard lead time (SLT) for a port request is:
22 business days for geographic numbers
22 business days for toll-free numbers
5 business days for mobile numbers
Note
Additional time is added if there is a rejection for missing/incorrect information.
Porting requirements
Number portability for all number types is available via the larger operators but not available with all operators. Please enquire with the current number operator whether porting away is possible via them.
The full list of phone numbers you want to port including the country code.
The LOA must be signed by the person who has administrative rights on the account with the current carrier.
Include the ZIP code for the requested number.
Confirm the main billing number with your current carrier before submitting your request.
Check whether any associated lines or linked numbers also need to be included in the request.
If available, obtain a Proof of Validation (POV) or Customer Service Record (CSR) from your current carrier to help reduce the chance of rejection.
Possible port rejection reasons
Port requests can occasionally be rejected. To help avoid delays, review these common reasons and double-check your information before submitting your request.
Incorrect end user name.
ZIP code of the service address is missing or incorrect.
Number isn’t active.
Requested number is part of a larger number range.
Incorrect main billing number.
Associated lines are missing from the request.
The number configuration doesn’t match the current carrier’s records.
Insufficient lead time.
For Mobile DIDs only:
Incorrect PAC code or PAC code is older than 30 days.
Porting checklist
LOA is filled out, dated, and signed.
Latest invoice from your current carrier.
A Proof of Validation (POV) or Customer Service Record (CSR) document has been collected, if available.
All numbers are active with your current carrier.
The ZIP code matches the service address on file.
The main billing number has been confirmed.
Any associated lines or linked numbers have been reviewed and included, if required.
All numbers in your account are porting over or you’ve disassociated them from the other numbers in your account with your current provider.
The requested port date allows enough lead time.

Dialpad will do its best to meet your requested port date, but it can't be guaranteed. If no date is provided, we'll port your numbers as soon as possible.
