How long will it take?

The standard lead time (SLT) for a port request is:

  • 15 business days for geographic numbers

  • 35 business days for toll-free numbers

Additional time is added if there is a rejection for missing/incorrect information.

Porting requirements

Number portability for all number types is available via the larger operators but not available with all operators. Please enquire with the current number operator whether porting away is possible via them.

  • The full list of phone numbers you want to port, including the country code

  • The LOA must be signed by an authorized representative. For business requests, verify the signer is listed in the Zefix company registry.

  • The end user details exactly match your current carrier's records.

  • Check whether a second signature is required on the LOA.

Possible port rejection reasons

Port requests can occasionally be rejected. To help avoid delays, review these common rejection reasons and double-check your information before submitting your request.

  • Incorrect end user name or customer details.

  • The number isn’t active

  • Incorrect service address

  • The requested number is part of a larger number range.

  • Active contract for the requested numbers.

  • Second signature is required on the LOA.

  • The authorized signatory on the LOA doesn't match the official company registry.

Porting checklist

  • LOA is filled out, dated, and signed.

  • Latest invoice from your current carrier.

  • All numbers are active with your current carrier.

  • Confirm whether a second signature is required on the LOA.

  • Confirm that the end user details match your current carrier's records.

  • For business requests, verify that the signer is listed in the Zefix company registry.

  • All numbers in your account are porting over, or you’ve disassociated them from the other numbers in your account with your current provider.

  • You've provided your preferred port date in compliance with the SLA.

Note

Dialpad will do its best to meet your requested port date, but it can't be guaranteed. If no date is provided, we'll port the numbers as soon as possible.
