Paging Groups let you send announcements to multiple desk phones at once, making it easy to communicate with your team.
With Dialpad, you can create and manage Paging Groups directly from the Admin Portal without contacting Customer Care. Simply choose which desk phones can send or receive pages, then assign a line key to start paging.
Let's dive into the details.
Who can use this
Group paging is available to Dialpad customers using desk phones that are all part of the same product platform and in the same physical office (ie, on the same subnet).
Refer to our Pricing Page to see if you have access to this feature. If you have any questions about your plan, reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Dialpad Customer Care.

| Desk phone | Supported models |

Create a Paging Group
To set up a Paging Group, go to your Dialpad Admin Settings.
- Navigate to Office > Desk Phones
- Select Deskphone Settings
- Select Paging Groups
- Select Create Paging Group
- Set Group Name
- In the Select Devices, choose one:
- User Devices
- Room Devices
- To allow a device to send pages, select All Pagers beside the device.

That's it! Your Paging Group is ready to be configured on your desk phones.

If your Office already has Paging Groups configured by Dialpad, switching to the new self-service setup will replace your existing configuration. Be sure to review the on-screen notice before continuing.
Assign a line key
To start paging from your desk phone, you'll need to assign a line key to your Paging Group.
To assign a line key, go to your Dialpad Admin Settings.
- Select Office > Desk Phones
- Select the User Phones or Room Phones tab
- Beside the desk phone that you want to configure,
select Options > Configure Deskphone - Assign line keys as needed
- Paging Group: Assign the line key to a specific Paging Group. Choose the group you want to use.
- Paging List: Let users choose from their available Paging Groups directly on the phone when they press the line key.
Select Update Device
Note
When setting up a Paging List line key, you don't need to select a group. Users can choose the group they want to page directly from their desk phone.
Apply your Paging Group settings
Once you've configured your Paging Group, your desk phone needs to reboot before the changes take effect.
You can do this in any of the following ways:
- Reboot from the Admin Portal: Go to Desk Phones, select the device, then select Reboot. Repeat for any other devices you've configured.
- Restart manually: Power-cycle the desk phone.
- Wait for automatic reprovisioning: Your phone will automatically reprovision overnight, usually around 4 AM.
Once the phone restarts, your new Paging Group settings will be ready to use.
