Let's talk spoofing and spam calls. We've all been there, you answer a call from a local number and are immediately informed your car insurance is about to expire, or your credit card debt can magically be forgiven.
These instances certainly are annoying, but how does this impact your business? Well, due to an increase in unwanted spam calls, carriers have implemented STIR/SHAKEN authentication standards to label and/or block calls that are not registered in their records, as they believe the call could be deceptive or illegal.

What is STIR/SHAKEN?
STIR/SHAKEN is a framework of interconnected standards designed to protect you against robo-callers and caller ID spoofing.
STIR/SHAKEN is the acronym for the Secure Telephone Identity Revisited (STIR) and Signature-based Handling of Asserted Information Using toKENs (SHAKEN) standards.
STIR/SHAKEN digitally validates the handoff of phone calls passing through the complex web of networks (such as Dialpad), allowing the phone company of the consumer receiving the call to verify that a call is in fact from the number displayed on Caller ID.

How do I know if a number is STIR/SHAKEN verified?
If the number has been STIR/SHAKEN verified, you will see a checkmark next to the phone number.
This will appear on both inbound HD call notifications & in the active call screen.
