Salesforce + Dialpad Meetings: Enablement Guide

Overview

With Dialpad Meetings for Salesforce, your team can: 

  • Schedule a conference with a Contact/Lead
  • Schedule a conference from any screen within Salesforce
  • Schedule a conference from the Create New Event view
  • Enable Dialpad Dialpad Meetings on your Chatter Feed

Additionally, the integration will save your conferences under the Activity History for that Contact or Lead.

Enable Dialpad Dialpad Meetings for Salesforce

  • Install the package from the AppExchange
  • Follow the installation steps and select Install for All Users

Add Dialpad Meetings Tab (Salesforce Lighting)

  • Navigate to Set Up from the drop-down menu
  • Navigate to Platform Tools > Apps > App Manager
  • Within App Manager find Sales - Lighting Sales in the list > Edit
  • Navigate to Navigation Items
  • Search Dialpad Meetings under Available Items and select to Add

Add Dialpad Meetings Tab (Salesforce Classic)

  • Navigate to Set Up from the User drop-down menu
  • Navigate to Create>Apps from the sidebar
  • Locate the app where you want to add the Dialpad Meetings tab
  • Click Edit
  • Select Dialpad Meetings from the Available Tabs list and move to the right
  • Enable the checkbox Overwrite users personal customizations
  • Click Save

Enable New Layout and Scheduled Events (Salesforce Lighting)

  • Navigate to Set Up from the drop-down menu
  • Navigate to Object Manager
  • Select the object you want to add Dialpad Meetings to (i.e. Events)
  • Within the object > Page Layouts > Edit
  • Search for Dialpad Meetings fields in object layout to add

Enable New Layout and Scheduled Events (Salesforce Classic)

  • Navigate to Set Up from the User drop-down menu
  • Navigate to Customize>Activities>Event Page Layouts
  • Search for Dialpad Meetings from the Quick Find search bar
  • Drag and drop the field anywhere on the event page under Calendar Details

 

Enable Chatter Feed

  • Navigate to Set Up from the User drop-down menu
  • Navigate to Customize>Chat>Feed Tracking
  • Select Events from the left-hand column
  • Click on Enable Feed Tracking Checkbox
  • Select Dialpad Meetings then Save

Uninstall Dialpad Meetings for Salesforce

To uninstall Dialpad Meetings for Salesforce, you'll need to remove the Leads and Contacts buttons from the page layout.

Remove Leads Button

  • Navigate to Set Up from the User drop-down menu
  • Navigate to Customize>Leads>Search Layouts
  • Locate the Leads List View then click Edit
  • Scroll down to the Custom Buttons section
  • Remove the Schedule button and Save 

Remove Contacts Button

  • Navigate to Set Up from the User drop-down menu
  • Navigate to Customize>Leads>Search Layouts
  • Locate the Contacts List View and click Edit
  • Scroll down to the Custom Button section
  • Remove the Schedule button and Save
