Dialpad Release Notes for 21.07.23

We're always rolling out updates that contain new features and capabilities to ensure customers get the most of Dialpad.

Let's take a look at what's new in this release for July 23, 2021.



  • Left sidebar updates to pull items with new messages/feed items out of a collapsed header

  • “Report call” option

    • Provides the ability for users to report calls to open support tickets outside of our existing ‘rate call’ flow


  • Server Updates

    • New Filter for Call History and Analytics: Internal/Externalnew_filter_for_call_history.png

    • The Internal/External filter enables Dialpad users to isolate just external or internal call data in their call history and calls tab in analytics. Previously, this data was only accessible at the user level via the internal_calls column in the user statistics export.

    • Note: 

      • Filter does not apply to Dialpad Meetings (or Highfive meetings)

      • Filter does not apply to exports 

      • Filter only applies to the calls tab in Analytics




  • API to return call transcript URLs. New Transcript API for customers looking to retrieve the URLs for call transcripts by Call ID outside of the call events.

  • Improvement for SMS API to support messages to be sent to Dialpad Channels by Hashtag.

 Call Features

  • Server Updates

    • Play an IVR to an operator when they lose race to answer inbound call

      • A small, but mighty improvement to the operator experience! Due to some simultaneous ringing scenarios, it is possible for two operators to try and answer the same call at the same time. When this happens, we will now play an IVR to the operator who loses this race condition to let them know that another operator is handling the call.
