You can send and receive both SMS/MMS from your Shared Line, meaning your Main Line, Departments and/or Call Centers.
Learn how to manage your Main Line/Department messages below.
Send a Message
To send a Main Line, Department, or Call Center message:
- Click on New Message
- Select the Shared Line from New Message From the drop-down
If your shared line doesn't have a phone number, you will not see it as an option to choose from within the drop-down menu.
Receive a Message
When you receive a message to your Main Line, Department, or Call Center you'll be notified on the sidebar next to your shared line's name. We'll also push a notification to your Android device (no iOS or desktop app).
Can I send SMS or MMS to toll-free lines?
No. Currently, we support:
- SMS/MMS texts to local numbers assigned to Mainlines, Departments or Call Centers
- Dialpad messages to toll-free numbers
If you try to send a message from your toll-free number, we'll revert to using the available local line instead. If that's not available (meaning you didn't add a local # to your Department or Call Center), we'll default to using your Main Line.
I sent a message to a contact from my Department /Call Center, but it's displaying as my Main Line, what gives?
If you didn't add a local # to your Department or Call Center, we'll default to using your Main Line as the outbound ID.
