Sync Your Contacts

Accounts like Exchange, Hotmail or Outlook need to be manually synced by an individual user.

Your contacts associated with these providers gives you the following options:

  • Search for personal contacts in Dialpad
  • Make edits to your contacts within Dialpad (doesn't sync)
  • Add contacts in Dialpad (doesn't sync)
  • Remove contacts in Dialpad (doesn't sync)

We recommend managing personal contacts outside of Dialpad (this way the info stays current in Dialpad).

Sync Exchange Contacts

Here’s how to manually sync your Exchange contacts:

  1. Navigate to Dialpad.com > Your Settings > Contact Sources > Add Contact Source
  2. Enter your email and password then click Sign In
  3. Select Exchange
  4. Enter your Exchange email and password

After following these steps, you’ll be brought to Dialpad where you’ll see the sync has connected.

If an error message displays, you may need to enter your Exchange username and server. Here’s how:

  1. Disconnect your sync
  2. Click Add Contact Source
  3. Enter your email and password then click Sign In
  4. Select Exchange
  5. Enter your Exchange email and password then click Advanced Settings
  6. Enter your Exchange username and server*

*Your username may be your Windows username rather than your email address. You can find your server name on the Outlook Web App

Sync Hotmail or Outlook Contacts

Here’s how to manually sync your Hotmail/Outlook contacts:

  1. Navigate to Dialpad.com > Your Settings > Contact Sources > Add Contact Source
  2. Enter your email and password then click Sign In
  3. Select Other
  4. Enter your email, password, IMAP Host, IMAP Port #, STMP Host, STMP Port #*

After following these steps, you’ll be brought to Dialpad where you’ll see the sync has connected.

*If you need help finding your IMAP or SMTP info, try searching for POP and IMAP settings in your email client’s settings page.
