# Voicemail

Voicemails enable callers to leave a message with you or your department/contact center when you are unavailable to take the call. Voicemails can be accessed and listened to directly on your desk phone. You are also notified on your desk phone when you have pending voicemails in your voicemail inbox.

## Voicemail indicator

When you receive a voicemail on your desk phone, the voicemail indicator (VMI) light on your phone blinks to show that the message is in your voicemail inbox and hasn’t been listened to.
