# Sidecars for Desk Phones

Sidecars allows users to link an additional device to their desk phone, with additional line keys for speed dial numbers or frequently dialed numbers.

> Sidecars are only compatible with desk phones that can use sidecars. Read this [Help Center article](https://help.dialpad.com/docs/supported-desk-and-room-phones#desk-phones) to review compatibility with your desk phone model.

> Ensure your desk phone is unplugged before attaching a sidecar device.

### Add a sidecar to a desk phone

To add a sidecar to your desk phone, go to your Dialpad **Admin Settings**.

1. [Purchase or Order a Desk Phone](/v1/docs/purchase-or-order-a-desk-phone)
2. Once your sidecar arrives, power off the desk phone and attach the sidecar to the desk phone
3. Power on the desk phone (plug it back in)
