# Executive Assistant Line

If you need to set up a desk phone for an executive assistant (EA), you can enable the EA’s desk phone to ring for calls intended for the executive.

> You can only configure user desk phones as an EA. Room phones can’t be set up for EA use.

When used for incoming calls, the EA has a line key tied to an extension or DID. The behavior of the desk phone & line keys includes:

- Incoming calls ring the configured desk phones simultaneously.
- When a desk phone answers a call, the status LED turns green; on the other phones, the status LED turns red.
- When the call completes, all status lights turn off (green) once more.

If the EA is on a call that they want to transfer to their executive, they can transfer the call to them.
