    Article summary

We’re on a mission to completely transform how the world works together and our team works around the clock designing groundbreaking, truly unified products — all powered by the most advanced communications Ai in the world!

We're always rolling out updates to maintain the reliability &  performance of our real-time push notification capabilities to ensure you get the most out of Dialpad. Let's take a look at an important change we have coming out soon.

    Who does this apply to?

This update applies to all Dialpad users. Changes may be needed for those with per-domain or per-IP firewall rules.

    What is changing and why?

In January 2025, Dialpad is rolling out additional changes to maintain the reliability & performance of our real-time push notification capabilities. Depending on your network configuration, you may need to make changes to your firewall rules.

Dialpad does not anticipate any disruption to push notifications except in cases where networks have strict restrictions and where firewalls or DNS servers might not be set up to permit the new subdomains or IP addresses that will be used.

How do I know if I am affected?

Dialpad has built a test to help you quickly verify if your configuration needs to be updated.

The test can be accessed from our desktop or browser app.

Using the test on the desktop app

From the Dialpad Desktop App, go to the Help menu (on Windows, press Alt to see the menu), then select Push Provider Check.

If you don’t see that option in your app yet, update the app or use the browser check below.

The test window will open and initiate the test automatically. It takes anywhere between a few seconds, up to a minute to provide results.

If your app is unable to connect to our new push provider, you’ll need to make firewall changes as detailed below.

If the test is successful, you’re all set and don’t need to do anything.

Using the test on the browser app

If you use Dialpad’s browser app, open the app using this URL: https://dialpad.com/app?pushProviderCheck

The test window will open and initiate the test automatically and takes up to a minute to provide results.

If your app is unable to connect to our new push provider, you’ll need to make firewall changes as detailed below.

If the test is successful, you’re all set and don’t need to do anything.

    Note

You must be logged in to access the test.

What do I need to do?

Users with a standard firewall setup should not be affected by this change. Dialpad has not historically advised configuring firewalls to be restricted to certain IP addresses – we are providing notice as a precaution for those who have configured their firewall with this level of restriction.

    New subdomains to whitelist:

If you have per-domain firewall rules, and you have not added a wildcard *.dialpad.com allow rule, you’ll need to add the following two subdomains:

    • realtime.push.dialpad.com

    • realtime2.push.dialpad.com

    • realtime3.push.dialpad.com

    • *.dialpad.net

    New IP ranges to whitelist:

If you have per-IP firewall rules, you’ll need to add the following IPs:

    • 3.106.1.183

    • 3.143.76.93

    • 18.138.5.31

    • 18.194.168.33

    • 18.213.155.75

    • 52.209.233.153

    • 184.169.146.103

    Mobile requirements

Make sure your mobile apps are up to date with the latest version. This change will require users to be on Android app version 21 or iOS app version 23 to avoid any service disruption.

    When will this be released?

The rollout for these changes will begin on November 20th and were completed  at the beginning of January, 2025.
