# Dialpad Meetings System Requirements

Dialpad Meetings is made to work with most users' browser types and internet speed, plus no downloads are required. We do have some requirements, however, to get the best experience. Those include:

- 100kbps connection speed (both upload and download speeds)
- [Latest Chrome browser](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95414?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en) for screen sharing (no canary or developer versions)

Worried that your computer still won't connect? Make sure to check the following areas.

## Native desktop app

Windows 10 and 11 (32- and 64-bit):

- +1 GHz processor
- Minimum of 4GB of memory
- 300MB of hard drive space

Mac OS X, macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) or later:

- +1 GHz processor
- Minimum of 4GB of memory
- 300MB of hard drive space

To download and install the Native Desktop App on your Windows or MacOS device, [click here](https://www.uberconference.com/download).

## Supported browsers

To access a conference from the web, you can use the following browsers:

### Desktop

- Chrome
- Edge (version 80.0.361.69 and above)
- Firefox

## Test call quality

Launch a [call quality test](https://www.uberconference.com/system/call) to review these areas:

- Microphone
- Audio Playback
- Network Connectivity
- Data Transfer
- VoIP
- Audio Input

If something's wrong, we'll let you know and give you the steps to fix it.

## Screen sharing

Make sure that you've set up the following for screen share:

- [Latest version of Chrome browser](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95414?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en) (no canary or developer versions)

If you're only viewing a screen share, you can use the following browsers:

- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Opera
- Microsoft Edge

> [!TIP]
> Tip
>
> To connect audio through your computer rather than over the phone, only Chrome, Firefox, and Edge are supported.

## Mic & speakers

If your computer doesn't have a built-in mic and speakers, we recommend using a headset (like Plantronics USB). Plus, headsets cut down on background noise and any chance of echo.

## Chromebooks

Chromebooks come in a lot of configurations, and Chromebooks that do not meet the following standards are more likely to have call quality issues and slowness when attempting to multitask (using multiple tabs/apps).

- Platform: Linux x86_64
- Chrome Version: Latest (Menu > Help > About Google Chrome)
- Chrome OS Version: Latest
- Memory: 4GB
- CPU: Intel(R) Core (TM) m3-6Y30 @ 0.90GHz

## Virtual environment

### Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) is a server-based computing model that separates the desktop environment and associated application software from the physical client device that is used to access it.

Dialpad supports certain virtual environments after partnering with a customer on an agreed plan to maintain a high level of quality of services. Complete this [form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdoI7W_wb82lqV5blwlNSNLRpGzAGFLfShqxrEtyIs5sMhcOg/viewform) to provide information about your environment and start the process. Not all virtual environments are created equal. There are many factors that go into the ability for a virtual environment to support real time communications services such as Dialpad.

> [!NOTE]
> Note
>
> Dialpad supports users on our Native or Web App. While our Customer Support team is dedicated to helping resolve any issues, it's important to note that if you're using a virtual environment, we'll need to replicate the problem in a non-VDI environment for troubleshooting.
>
> If the issue cannot be replicated in a non-VDI environment, Dialpad Support may request that you report the issue to the appropriate virtualization vendor's product support team.
>
> If you experience performance issues with the Dialpad Desktop or Web App as a result of running it in a VDI environment, Dialpad will not consider those issues to be product- or platform-related.

## Unsupported configurations

Dialpad does not support using our services through any of the following tools:

- Remote Desktop Clients (RDPs)

## Video streaming

**Recommended bandwidth for HD video (720p)** For 1:1 calls, the recommended bandwidth is a minimum of 1.2-1.5 mbps up / down.

For group calls, 1.2-1.5 mbps and 3 mbps down.

## Routers and ports

You'll want to make sure your router/gateway has the SIP ALG disabled and that you've opened the following ports on your firewall:

| **Protocol** | **Ports** | **Direction** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| TCP | 80/443 | Out |
| TCP | 6800/5222/5223/7060 | Out |
| UDP | 5060/5061/7060/11000/16600 to 16998/19305 | Out |
| UDP | stun.l.google.com/19302 | UDP outbound |
| "" | "" | UDP bidirectional |
| UDP | 16384 to 32768 | Out |

You can also restrict outbound traffic to the following domains:

- dialpad.com
- dialpadcdn.com
- highfive.com
- ubervoip.net
- stun.l.google.com

> [!TIP]
> What are these ports used for?
>
> **80/443**: WebSockets to communicate with our servers
>
>
>
> **6800/5222/5223/7060**: Outbound calls
>
>
>
> **5060/5061/7060/11000/16600 to 16998/19305**: Outbound calls
>
>
>
> **stun.l.google.com/19302**: ICE protocol to determine public address
>
>
>
> **16384 to 32768**: Only open these if your network doesn't use D-NAT

Usually, there's no need to turn on QoS on your router unless you have a large network with several thousand employees.

> [!NOTE]
> Note
>
> These ports need to be open to create outbound UDP. Dialpad Meetings will piggyback on this open pinhole to send back UDP traffic.
