# Assign Operators to Departments

Operators assigned to a [Department](https://portal.us.document360.io/v1/docs/create-manage-a-department) can interact with callers in real-time, efficiently answering questions and providing assistance. Nothing is ever set in stone; admins have the flexibility to assign and unassign operators as needed.

Let's dive into the details.

> [!NOTE]
> Who can use this
>
> Company and Office Admins with a [Dialpad Connect](http://www.dialpad.com/pricing) license on [Standard, Pro and Enterprise plans](https://www.dialpad.com/pricing/#business) are able to assign operators.

## Assign an operator

1. Select **Departments**
2. Select the desired Department
3. Select**Assigned operators & phones**
4. Navigate to **Add people from your team**

2. Select **Users**
3. Navigate to a user

You can also use this method to remove an operator from multiple departments at the same time (uncheck the boxes).
