Not unless you import your mobile phone contacts into the Google/Microsoft account synced with your Dialpad account.

Can Dialpad use my phone's local contacts to show the name of the caller on the Recent screen?

Not unless you import your mobile phone contacts into the Google/Microsoft account synced with your Dialpad account.

How does Dialpad search and/or create contacts on inbound HD calls?

[Android & iOS users] If your caller's info is saved in any of the following places:

We'll display the contact name that you have saved as the caller ID.

If it isn't (and also isn't saved on your phone) then we'll display the number or CNAM if we have one saved in our database. We'll also create a contact based on that number in Dialpad. (CNAM will only display if you're receiving the call on a landline, a phone with T-Mobile or Metro PCS as a carrier, or a phone where the provider offers CNAM as an extra feature.)

Dialpad Tip: iOS users—we'll display the contact name saved in your local contacts if it matches your caller's number (but we won't save that name in Dialpad). You'll just see the phone number instead.

How does Dialpad search/and or create contacts on inbound carrier calls?

[Android & iOS users] If your caller's info is saved on your device, but not saved in any of the following places:

Your device will display the contact name that you have saved as the caller ID. When we create a new contact in Dialpad, we'll save it with either the phone number or the CNAM if we have one saved in our database.

If the caller isn't saved on your device but is saved in one of the places listed above, the push notification will display the right name but the inbound carrier call will show the phone number instead.

And if the caller isn't saved on your device or within your Google/Microsoft contacts, your device will display the phone number or CNAM on the inbound call and then save that as a new contact in Dialpad.

In order for us to search your Office 365 directory contacts your Microsoft admin must have global admin permissions enabled in AAD
